A question that often arises whenever an idol-actor gets a leading role in a drama, was her/his agency involved? Did they influence the decision?

Producing director Shin Won Ho was among the cast who attended “Prison Playbook” press conference ahead of its premiere.

PD Shin Won Ho touched on the controversial subject of two idols being cast in the drama that features many veteran and experienced actors, he said,

“Honestly, at first my expectations of Kang Seung Yoon were low. Its been a while since I saw him acting in ‘Highkick’ and it wasn’t like he continued acting since then.

I had forgotten about him and I honestly didn’t know WINNER either. But I heard they became quite popular after ‘Really Really.’

When I met him and he read the script with the dialect, his character came to life and that’s why I cast him.

Being from a big company or an idol group didn’t really give him any special treatment.”

About Krystal he added,

“The same goes for Krystal.”

“Prison Playbook” tells the story of a popular baseball player who becomes a criminal overnight.

“Prison Playbook” will air its first episode on November 22.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
