Can you believe that one of the most beloved kdramas of all time has aired its first episode two years ago today?
Its lead actor Lee Joon Gi still remembers and he sweetly celebrated the drama’s second anniversary with an instagram post, he made fans hearts melt when he wrote in English.
In his instagram post he shared a video of compilation of the drama’s highlights featuring the lead female IU. He also shared a sweet cake featuring his character’s face in historical attire.
He captioned,
“Happy Congrats MoonLover 2nd anniversary !!! and Super thanks 💌to Moon lover fans of around the world. I hope to see U very soon.”
It seems like Lee Joon Gi is aware of international fans’ love for the series, it is still talked about to this day and many still re-watch the drama whenever possible.
“Scarlet Heart Ryeo” aired its first episode on August 29, 2016. It didn’t achieve huge success in South Korea but it was well received internationally which helped the drama a lot despite the lackluster viewership ratings.
The drama feature a star-studded cast IU, Kang Haneul, Kang Hanna, Nam Joohyuk, Jisoo, EXO’s Baekhyun and many others took on leading roles in the drama.
Many fans have even been demanding a second season of the drama since the first season had a not-so-favorable sad ending.
It also seems that actor Lee Joon Gi is hinting that he’d be returning with a new project very soon, we wonder what that could be.
