Red Velvet Irene is full of love for hoobae and friend BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
Red Velvet has recently made their comeback that has been sweeping charts, becoming one of their most successful releases to date. Fellow artists BLACKPINK also continue to do well on charts even after more than one month has passed since the release of their highly awaited comeback.
On August 14 episode of JTBC’s “Idol Room,” Irene talked in more details about her friendship with BLACKPINK’s Jennie, she said,
“We actually used to go to the same hair salon as BLACKPINK members. Jennie said ‘unnie’ and approached me first, that’s how we become close.”
Irene also talked about how they maintain their friendship despite their extremely busy schedules, she added,
“Jennie is very busy so we don’t get to see each other often but when we do, we usually go out to eat.”
The friendship between SM and YG group is a reminder to all that friendship is possible between two groups that are considered rivals.
