MGA 2018 was a great awards show, many of the best groups and soloists attended the event. BTS was among the attendees and performers of the event.
They had a special collaboration stage with Charlie Puth and it was definitely one of the highlights of the event. However, fans and netizens noticed that the performance didn’t crack up for what it was supposed to be.
During the performance, fans noticed that Jimin and V’s vocals were shaky and unstable. Their voices weren’t what fans were used to seeing from them since they are known for their amazing stage presence and performances.
Netizens left comments criticizing their vocals saying,
“poor vocals,” “not professional” and more.
Some netizens and fans also left comments trying to make sense of what happened, some argue that they were out of tune even Charlie Puth,
“everyone including Charlie seemed to have difficulties adjusting their voices, maybe mics/instrumentals were set differently than usual and so it was disturbing. or maybe they were just tired. whatever happened, they still gave us a wonderful performance.”
“I think there were issues with audio because everyone seemed to be a little out of tune, even Charlie.”
“I feel sorry for them. I think they couldve done better with more rest. I’m not saying they did terrible, they actually did amazing if u count the fact that they’ve been on tour and been in so many interviews for so long. ik no one wants this but I think they should have at least a short hiatus.”

What do you think of this?
WOW! that was painful to watch… I struggled! I don’t think anyone should be going at any person for saying this, it is bad, its very underwhelming and not what it cracked out to be.
I thought that at first, there was a problem with mics, but then I heard RM and J-Hope, they sounded AMAZING, so did Jin and Jungkook they all sounded really well.
This can mean that the problem was with Jimin and V. They could be tired and this tour is taking a toll on them. I feel so sorry for them it must be so difficult to keep performing 100% so it’s understandable.
I don’t agree with netizens who called this ‘not professional’ since I doubt they were deliberately trying to do that, people get tired ya know.
It could also be that their mics weren’t checked in properly so they couldn’t hear what was going on or how they sounded. I don’t know about sound check a lot but I think this could be one of the reasons.
I just hope that Big Hit gives BTS a break and I hope that BTS also give themselves a break they don’t have to be on all the time. They were one of the busiest idols this year.
I hope V and Jimin don’t go so hard on themselves because of this!
