Actors Moon Ji In and Kim Ki Ri Welcome Baby Boy After Enduring Past Miscarriage
Actor couple Moon Ji In and Kim Ki Ri have become parents, welcoming a healthy baby boy two years into marriage after previously enduring the pain of a miscarriage.
According to a News1 report on August 10th, Moon Ji In gave birth to a son on August 7th at a maternity hospital in Seoul. Both mother and baby are in good health, and the couple and their families are overjoyed to welcome their new family member. The two tied the knot in May 2024 and shared glimpses of their newlywed life on SBS’s variety show “Dongsangimong 2 — You Are My Destiny,” earning support from fans. Not long after getting married, they conceived, but sadly experienced the pain of a miscarriage. Since then, the couple continued earnest efforts, including IVF treatment, before finally welcoming this precious result.
The couple announced their pregnancy this past March, saying at the time, “This is a child we were reunited with after a difficult time, so we feel even more grateful and tender toward this pregnancy.” On August 6th, a day before giving birth, Moon Ji In wrote on her personal account, “I really don’t have much time left,” adding, “Throughout my pregnancy, I’ve received so much love and blessing from so many people — it was a grace and gratitude I have no way to repay.” She continued, “Along with our little life, we’ll take the time it takes, but we will live paying that love back, so please wait by our side.”
Her husband also showed his affection for his wife ahead of the birth. He said, “This is what comes to mind knowing I’m about to become a father soon,” admitting, “I wish I’d played with my wife more, been a little more attentive, a little kinder,” before adding, “Moon Ji In, let’s play as three now, for real,” signaling his start as a determined new dad.
Kim Ki Ri debuted in 2006 and has since worked across both comedy and acting, while Moon Ji In debuted as an SBS-recruited actress in 2009 and has shown her presence in numerous dramas. Having overcome hardship together, the two have now begun a second chapter of life as true parents.
