First Generation Theater Star Actress Yoon Seok Hwa Passes Away At 69
Theater star actress Yoon Seok Hwa has passed away. She was 69.
According to the Korea Theater Actors Association on the 19th of December, Yoon Seok Hwa, who had been battling a brain tumor, passed away at around 9 p.m. on the 18th of December.
Born in January 1956 in Seoul, Yoon Seok Hwa made her debut in 1975 with the Minjung Theater Company “Kkulmat.” She remained active on stage, appearing in plays such as “I Am You” (2014) and “Yoon Seok Hwa’s Distant You” (2015), as well as musicals including “Cinderella” (1976) and “Empress Myeongseong” (1996).
She was also active in television, appearing in dramas such as MBC’s “The Fairy of Shampoo” and “Happy Woman,” and SBS’s “Saimdang, Light’s Diary.”
In October 2022, news broke that she had undergone surgery for a brain tumor, adding to public sorrow.
Meanwhile, the funeral altar will be set up at the funeral hall of Sinchon Severance Hospital in Seoul.
