After Not Participating In “Squid Game 2” Press Conference, T.O.P Is Also Notably Missing From Interview Rounds

T.O.P (Choi Seung Hyun), formerly of BIGBANG, will not participate in interviews for his comeback project, “Squid Game” Season 2, following his absence from the production press conference.

On December 20, Netflix announced the schedule for roundtable interviews with the cast of Squid Game Season 2. The list includes director Hwang Dong Hyuk and actors Lee Jung Jae, Park Gyu Young, Yang Dong Geun, Lee Seo Hwan, Wi Ha Joon, Kang Ae Sim, Lee Byung Hun, Park Sung Hoon, Im Si Wan, and Jo Yu Ri.

T.O.P’s name was notably absent from the attendee list, marking his second absence following the production press conference earlier this month. This is speculated to be a response to the criticism surrounding his casting.

In 2016, T.O.P was sentenced to 10 months in prison with a two-year probation period for marijuana use. He subsequently left BIGBANG and announced his retirement from the entertainment industry. However, his return to acting through Squid Game Season 2 sparked controversy.

Director Hwang Dong Hyuk previously addressed T.O.P’s casting, stating, “The decision to cast Choi Seung Hyun was made some time ago. His sentence had already been served, and his probation period had ended. I thought enough time had passed for him to start working again.”

Squid Game Season 2 will depict Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) returning to the games for revenge and his intense clash with the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun). The series will be released worldwide on December 26.
