Ahn Jae Hyun Leaves Agency After 12 Years Together, Whats His Next Step?
Actor Ahn Jae Hyun is parting ways with HB Entertainment, the agency he has been with since his rookie days.
According to various media outlets on the 24th of September, Ahn Jae Hyun’s exclusive contract with HB Entertainment will expire in early October. After mutual discussions, both sides agreed not to renew, bringing their 12-year partnership to an end.
Later, a representative from HB Entertainment told Ilgan Sports, “Ahn Jae Hyun’s exclusive contract with our company has expired.”
Having left his former agency, Ahn Jae Hyun is currently searching for a new home and is reportedly in talks with Cube Entertainment regarding an exclusive contract.
Ahn Jae Hyun debuted as a model in 2009 and gained attention in 2011 when he made a surprise appearance as a delivery man on JTBC’s variety show “Lee Soo Geun and Kim Byung Man’s High Society.” Despite his small role, his striking visuals drew public interest, making him an internet sensation. He later signed with HB Entertainment after appearing in the SBS mega-hit drama “My Love From the Star,” where he played Cheon Song Yi’s (Jun Ji Hyun) quirky younger brother, Cheon Yoon Jae. That role launched his acting career, leading to appearances in various dramas across the years.
In addition to acting, Ahn Jae Hyun built a strong presence in entertainment shows, joining PD Na Young Seok’s lineup with tvN’s “New Journey to the West” series and “Kang’s Kitchen,” successfully balancing both acting and variety careers. In 2016, he married actress Ku Hye Sun, but after a highly publicized two-year divorce battle, the two finalized their divorce in July 2020.
After his hiatus, Ahn Jae Hyun returned to the industry and has since appeared various shows.
