Beloved Veteran Actor Yoon Il Bong Passes Away
Veteran actor Yoon Il Bong, father of ballerina Yoon Hye Jin and father-in-law of actor Uhm Tae Woong, has passed away.
According to broadcast officials on the 8th of December, Yoon Il Bong departed for heaven on this day. Age at death: 91.
The late Yoon Il Bong, born in Goesan-gun, Chungbuk, debuted in 1947 at age 13 in the cultural film “Railroad Story,” and in 1948 began full-fledged acting activities with the commercial film “Blue Hill.” After that, in 1951 he married the late Yoo Eun Yi, who was the older sister of actor Yoo Dong Geun, and they had three children. Among the three children, ballerina Yoon Hye Jin married Uhm Tae Woong.
In 1956, he also debuted as a theater actor through the play “Hero Lim Kkeok Jeong,” and he appeared in over 100 films.
In particular, the late Yoon Il Bong, with a height close to 180 cm and handsome appearance, was active as the main character of romance works in the 1970s and 1980s.
He appeared in films including “Barefoot Youth,” “Six Swordsmen,” “Home of the Stars,” “San Francisco of Sorrow,” “I Love Only You,” “The Woman I Left,” “The Man I Left,” “Suddenly, in the Deep Night,” and “A Woman’s Trap.”
In 1967, he won Best Supporting Actor at the Grand Bell Awards, and 17 years later, in 1984, he also won Best Actor at the Grand Bell Awards.
He also served as the 11th president of the Korean Motion Picture Promotion Corporation.
Meanwhile, the funeral hall has been set up at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, and the funeral will be held on the 10th.
