Actress Breaks Down In Tears After Being Accused Of Stealing A Married Man, His Former Wife Jumps To Her Defense
One of the biggest current stories in Korean media is that of Actress Choi Yeo Jin and the allegations that she stole a married man from his wife!
On the March 31 broadcast of SBS’s Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny, Choi Yeo Jin shared her love story and addressed the allegations.
Previously, it was revealed that the actress is getting married to a man who used to be married to someone else. This led to allegations that she stole the wife’s man, however, the former wife stood up to defend them both from the allegations.
Introducing her husband for the first time, Choi Yeo Jin said, “I used to have very high standards for my ideal type. But when I met this man, it was like getting hit by lightning. I realized for the first time that an ideal type isn’t just about appearance but also about personality. Our sense of humor is so similar, and watching how he lives, I saw how diligent and warm-hearted he is.”
Choi Yeo Jin also addressed misunderstandings surrounding her marriage. In the broadcast, she was seen video calling her husband’s ex-wife. The ex-wife stated, “We had already ended things and divorced before they met, so why are people making up rumors? I’m the witness here, and I’m saying it’s not true. I’m actually supporting them.”
Choi Yeo Jin’s fiancé also clarified, “The sunglasses that were mistaken as couple sunglasses were actually a sponsorship item. It wasn’t just the two of us wearing them—our whole team had them. There were rumors that we were dating back then, but that’s nonsense.”
The husband explained, “I got married in 2016, but within six months, we realized we had different paths in life. We started living separately in 2017. Even after divorcing, we didn’t tell many people because we didn’t want to upset our parents. Plus, neither of us were the type to go around talking about our private matters.” He emphasized that while they remained business partners, their marriage had ended.
He added, “It may be hard to understand, but we parted on good terms. Since we were going separate ways, we decided to support each other instead.”
Choi Yeo Jin clarified, “Honestly, it hasn’t been that long since we started dating. What I can say for sure is that we met after his divorce, and we never did anything that could be misinterpreted before that.”
She continued, “I feel most sorry to his ex-wife because she probably didn’t want to be dragged into all this. I expected some controversy, but I didn’t think past footage would resurface. If I had approached him with ill intentions, I wouldn’t have gone on TV and openly said, ‘I’m dating this man.’ I thought I could handle the misunderstandings, but hearing them still hurts. I also feel the most guilt towards him and his ex-wife.” She became emotional as she spoke.
Finally, Choi Yeo Jin pleaded, “I can’t change what others think, but I do have one request. He is a private citizen, so I hope people will respect his privacy.”
