Cuckoo China Halts All Promotions With Kim Soo Hyun, To Remove Ads And Images With His Face From All Official Platforms
As allegations surrounding actor Kim Soo Hyun continue to surface, overseas brands are distancing themselves from him.
Recently, Cuckoo China issued a statement saying, “We are suspending all brand promotional activities related to Kim Soo Hyun and will immediately replace all images of him on our official platforms. We will also halt our planned marketing campaigns and establish a special task force to monitor the situation closely.”
The brand has completely terminated Kim Soo Hyun’s promotional activities in China and removed all advertisements featuring him.
Amid expectations of the lifting of the Chinese entertainment ban (Hallyu ban), Kim Soo Hyun was announced as the brand’s model for China, Vietnam, and Indonesia on March 1. However, due to ongoing personal controversies, his advertisements have been pulled, and further developments are under review.
Kim Soo Hyun is at the center of controversy due to allegations that he had a relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. Additionally, there are claims that he pressured her to repay debts, which allegedly contributed to her death.
His agency, Gold Medalist, has repeatedly denied these allegations, but the revelations against him continue to emerge.
