Film Director Kim Chang Min Passes Away At 40 Years Old, Donates Organs To Four People
Film director Kim Chang Min (40) has passed away.
On November 8, several media outlets announced that Kim Chang Min died on November 7 due to a cerebral hemorrhage. His wake is being held at the Hanyang University Guri Hospital Funeral Hall, Room 1. The funeral will take place on November 10 at 6 a.m., and he will be laid to rest at Suwon Yeonhwajang.
His younger sister announced the news of his passing on his Instagram on November 8, writing, “My brother collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage on October 20. Despite our family’s desperate hopes, he never regained consciousness. On November 7, he was declared brain-dead and donated his organs, giving new life to four people before leaving for the Lord’s side.”
She continued, “He looked strong on the outside but was one of the warmest and most tender-hearted people. To those who remember him, please pray and think of him so that his final journey won’t be lonely, even from afar.”
Kim Chang Min directed Someone’s Daughter (2016) and Exit No. 3, Guui Station (2019). He was also part of the art team for several films, including Man of Will (2017), The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion (2018), The Drug King (2018), Forbidden Dream (2019), Waiting for Rain (2021), and Firefighter (2024).
