Famous Korean Actress Faints Ahead Of Highly Anticipated Drama Press Conference, Gets Rushed To Hospital
Fans continue to share heartfelt messages of concern for actress Go Hyun Jung, who was reported to have visited the emergency room due to deteriorating health on the 16th of December.
Go Hyun Jung was scheduled to attend the press conference for her lead role in Genie TV’s original drama Namib at 2 PM that day. However, two hours before the event, her absence was announced.
The production team explained, “This morning, based on the medical staff’s opinion that absolute rest and recovery are essential, the decision was made for her not to attend.” As a result, co-stars Ryeoun, Yoon Sang Hyun, and Lee Jin Woo attended the event in her place.
This drama marks Go Hyun Jung’s return to the small screen after three years since JTBC’s Reflection of You in 2021. Given her deep affection for the project, expressed throughout its production and promotional activities such as photo shoots and variety show appearances, her absence from the press conference was all the more regrettable.
Despite the production team’s detailed explanation, fans left messages of encouragement and comfort on Go Hyun Jung’s social media accounts. Some fans wrote, “Are you okay?” and “Get plenty of rest and eat something good,” while others expressed concern, urging her not to overdo it or blame herself for the situation.
Notably, Go Hyun Jung has frequently shared her candid thoughts through social media, YouTube, and TV appearances earlier this year, which likely led to an outpouring of supportive messages. At the time, she directly addressed rumors and misunderstandings about her, saying, “I hope people won’t misunderstand too much,” “Please don’t judge me too harshly,” and “I want to convey my sincerity,” drawing attention to her openness.
Her agency also commented on her health, stating, “With two days remaining until the wrap-up of filming, she seems to have pushed through despite her condition. Her health has not been good, and she collapsed multiple times on set. She also collapsed again this morning and was taken to the emergency room.”
Meanwhile, Naive, which premieres on the 23rd, tells the story of Kang Soo Hyun (played by Go Hyun Jung), a dismissed star producer, and Yoo Jin Woo (played by Ryeoun), a former long-term trainee who team up to pursue their individual goals.
