Gong Yoo expressed his gratitude to this actress who was there for him during one of the most difficult times in his life!

In a video released on October 17 by the YouTube channel Chae Jung An TV, Gong Yoo appeared as a guest. The two actors previously worked together in the 2007 MBC TV drama Coffee Prince.

Gong Yoo recalled a touching moment involving Chae Jung An, saying, “You definitely have a strong sense of loyalty,” as he shared a story from his father’s funeral.

He added, “When my father passed away, I was the chief mourner. It was so hard because I had never experienced anything like it before. While I was completely out of it, a friend came to me and said, ‘Chae Jung An sunbaenim is here.’ I hadn’t even announced the funeral, but she was already there having a meal. In that huge, empty hall, there she was, sitting alone. When I think back on it, I’m so grateful. She was the first one to arrive.”

He continued, “Jung An nuna told me she had been on her way to a shoot outside of Seoul but came anyway. It was such a ‘Chae Jung An’ thing to do. Even though I was overwhelmed with grief, it was so funny in that moment. But that made it even more comforting for me.”

Chae Jung An laughed as she added, “I was a little embarrassed because the broth from the spicy beef soup at the funeral home is really red, and I tend to get messy when I eat. I was in the middle of eating when Gong Yoo called out, ‘Nuna.’ I didn’t want to greet him like that, especially seeing him for the first time there.”

Gong Yoo responded, “It really gave me strength. I know that you were being extra bright in front of me to help lift my spirits. I realized again how loyal you are, and I’m truly grateful.”
