The Famous Korean Actor Who Realized He Experienced A Burnout… After It Was Over
Actor Gong Yoo revealed experiencing burnout.
On the 28th of November, the YouTube channel “YouInRadio” uploaded a video titled “[People I Should Meet] The Goblin Siblings Reunite | Gong Yoo EP. 2-1.”
During the video, when asked about her first impression of Gong Yoo, Yoo In Na shared, “It was at the script reading for ‘Goblin.’ When Gong Yoo walked in, I thought, ‘Wow, Gong Yoo is really here.’ He was wearing a blue shirt, but I tried not to show my excitement,” she laughed.
When asked if they keep in touch often, Yoo In Na said, “We’ve exchanged texts a few times. They’re always fun. About once every two years, he’ll check in or ask something random. One time, when I was a lunchbox model, he sent me a photo saying, ‘In Na, I’ll enjoy this meal.’ And two years ago, he heard my voice on a GPS system and texted, ‘Is that your voice, In Na? Nice to hear it again.'”
Gong Yoo recounted, “I was in a car with a fishing buddy in Jeju. While driving, I heard this familiar voice from the GPS. It sounded just like Yoo In Na. I hadn’t contacted her in a while, but hearing her voice made me miss her, so I used it as an excuse to reach out.”
Later in the segment, Yoo In Na read a story about someone struggling with burnout, saying, “I’m so tired and unmotivated. Is this what burnout feels like? What should I do?”
Gong Yoo responded carefully, admitting, “These topics are always delicate. I didn’t realize I was experiencing burnout until it was over. Only then could I explain my emotions to someone else.”
He added, “This person seems somewhat aware of their burnout, which is a good sign. I believe they can overcome this hardship.” Yoo In Na replied, “That’s very comforting to hear.”
Gong Yoo will soon return to screens with his new mystery melodrama, “The Trunk.”
