Famous Korean Actress Travels 20 Hours By Airplane To Throw 1st Pitch, Only For It To Be Canceled

Actress Ha Ji Won traveled 20 hours to the United States to throw a ceremonial first pitch at a Major League Baseball game, only to have it rained out.

On the 6th, the channel “26 Hakbeon Jiwoniyo” uploaded a video showing Ha Ji Won heading to the U.S. to prepare for her first pitch at Fenway Park in Boston.

The opportunity came about after former MLB pitcher Kim Byung Hyun, who had watched Ha Ji Won’s first pitch in Korea, suggested it to her. At the time, Kim Byung Hyun told her, “Let’s go throw a first pitch at a Major League game in Boston to make up for what you missed out on,” and Ha Ji Won boarded a flight to the U.S. After arriving at the airport, she expressed her excitement, saying, “I ate and slept on the plane, finally got some rest after a long time. I finally get to throw a first pitch in the Major Leagues.” However, as she traveled from New York to Boston, the rain grew heavier, and she worried, “I really hope it doesn’t rain.”

As heavy rain continued right up until 30 minutes before the game, fans began leaving the stadium one by one. Ha Ji Won stomped her feet and called out, “No,” and “Please don’t leave.” Eventually, Dustin Nippert announced, “The game has been canceled due to heavy rain. At the stadium, she also met her name-twin, Hanwha Eagles cheerleader Ha Ji Won. Actress Ha Ji Won said, “Let Jiwon introduce Jiwon,” adding, “It’s our first time meeting, and she’s so pretty.
