Actress Han Sua, who plays Lee Sunbin’s younger sister in the upcoming movie “Noise,” confessed that she was bullied during middle school in a recent interview.

Debuting in 2020 with the movie “Run Boy Run,” Han Sua left a strong impression last year by taking on contrasting characters in KBS2’s “Beauty and the Pure-hearted Man” and MBC’s “Doubt”. She won the Best New Actress award at the “2024 KBS Drama Awards,” and on January 22, she was interviewed at the TenAsia office in Jungnim-dong, Seoul for her upcoming movie.

Han Sua, who graduated from Gyeonggi Arts High School’s Theater and Film Department, said, “I recently went to get my fortune read, and I was told I have a tiger’s fate.” Was she always brave in the past as well? Han Sua said that wasn’t the case and opened up, saying, “I was bullied when I was in the second year of middle school.”

Han Sua shared, “It was quite severe at the time. I felt completely excluded. Since it was a long time ago, I don’t remember every single thing, but I vividly remember the painful moments. I hated being alone during break time, so I would stay in the bathroom and then come out. They would secretly cut my hair or play mean pranks on me.”

She continued, “As I entered an arts high school, some of the painful relationships started to get sorted out. If I could go back to that time, I wouldn’t just stand there and take it. Back then, I was really scared. Since my job is being a celebrity, I sometimes think that it was actually better that I endured it.”

Han Sua also said, “(The perpetrators) are probably struggling now, trying to find jobs. When I was in my early 20s, I thought that the pain I felt back then was everything in life, but after moving past that phase, I realized that everyone goes through hardships. I’m not the only one who experienced them.”
Many fans shared their surprise to learn this and are happy for the rising actress’s success.
