Actress Hwang Jung Eum is currently in the midst of a divorce lawsuit and has filed lawsuits against her ex-spouse, demanding repayment of money.
A representative from Hwang Jung Eum’s agency stated to My Daily on the 26th of June, “It is true that Hwang Jung Eum has filed a civil lawsuit against her ex-husband. We are not aware of the specific details as it pertains to the artist’s personal life.”
The previous day, on the YouTube channel ‘Entertainment President Lee Jin Ho’, it was claimed that “Hwang Jung Eum had lent her husband Mr. Lee a significant amount of money, exceeding 900 million won [around $647,337]. More specifically, the money was lent through Hwang Jung Eum’s personal corporation.”
The channel continued, “The problem arose when the process of divorce made it unclear how the money would be repaid. Despite Hwang Jung Eum’s repeated demands for the money’s return, she was ultimately unable to retrieve it. Consequently, Hwang Jung Eum filed a civil lawsuit against Mr. Lee, demanding the return of the money exceeding 900 million won.”
Hwang Jung Eum married businessman and former professional golfer Lee Young Don in 2016. Despite facing a crisis and submitting divorce mediation papers in 2020, they withdrew the application in July 2021 and reconciled before giving birth to their second son.

However, in February of this year, Hwang Jung Eum revealed that she was in the midst of a divorce lawsuit with Lee Young Don. During this process, she personally engaged in heated exchanges with netizens, stating, “I have (financially) 1,000 times more than my husband. What do you know to criticize me? If that’s what you think, then it’s right for me to have affairs since I earn more money and am more capable. According to your logic.”
