After Getting Sued For Falsely Accusing A Woman Of Cheating With Her Husband, Hwang Jung Eum Settles The Lawsuit
An individual who was mistakenly accused by actress Hwang Jung Eum of being her husband’s alleged mistress has withdrawn her defamation lawsuit against the actress.
On January 15, Y-One Entertainment, Hwang Jung Eum’s agency, confirmed the development, stating, “The misunderstanding has been resolved amicably.” However, they noted, “The exact timing of the withdrawal is unclear.”
Hwang Jung Eum married former professional golfer Lee Young Don in 2016, and the couple has two sons. However, in February 2024, Hwang filed for divorce, citing Lee’s alleged infidelity.
In April of last year, during her second divorce proceeding with Lee, Hwang posted a photo of a woman, identified as A, on her social media. The caption read, “Hey, ugly. Please marry Young Don. Just let me get divorced, and don’t run off to Bangkok.”
It was later revealed that A had no connection to Lee Young Don. Following the revelation, Hwang publicly apologized, saying, “I mistakenly identified an unrelated person as my husband’s mistress and reposted a netizen’s post with disrespectful language that could have caused humiliation. I sincerely apologize for the harm caused.”

Despite attempts at settlement, A proceeded with a criminal lawsuit against Hwang. Seven months later, A decided to withdraw the lawsuit, bringing the case to a close.
