Hwang Jung Min’s Upcoming Film and Variety Show Schedule Reportedly Unaffected by Privacy Dispute
Amid the ongoing back-and-forth over actor Hwang Jung Min‘s privacy controversy, his upcoming film and variety show schedules are reported to remain unaffected.
According to Ten Asia, there have been no changes to the filming and release schedule for his upcoming movie. SBS is reportedly monitoring the situation.
The production of the upcoming film A Good House to Live In, set to begin filming in August, had earlier stated there was no change to its shooting schedule. In a follow-up inquiry, the production remained tight-lipped, saying only, “There is no updated official statement at this time.”
SBS variety show Whenever Possible, on which Hwang Jung Min is set to appear as a guest on August 11, is reportedly monitoring the situation carefully. Regarding whether the episode will air as planned, SBS remained cautious, saying, “Nothing has been decided yet,” while adding, “We plan to respond according to how the facts are confirmed going forward.” The Netflix film Cross 2, also set for release this year, is reportedly proceeding on schedule as well.
On July 29, an individual identified only as A claimed via social media to have had an inappropriate relationship with Hwang Jung Min and disclosed details of his private life. The account reportedly posted what were claimed to be call recordings, call logs, and message screenshots involving a voice believed to be Hwang Jung Min’s.
As the controversy grew, Hwang Jung Min’s agency Sam Company stated, “The individual behind these posts, A, is a suspect in an ongoing stalking case against Hwang Jung Min,” adding, “We plan to take further legal action regarding the maliciously edited posts.”
Despite the controversy, Hwang Jung Min attended the previously scheduled stage greeting for Hope on July 29. He reportedly wrapped up the official event with a smile, without addressing the controversy, and is expected to follow through on all of his remaining stage greeting appearances.
