Three days before the breakup news was announced, on the 7th, IU shared photos and videos from the 5th Chungryong Series Awards handprint event through her personal account. She attended the event at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul’s Yongsan-gu as a previous year recipient after winning Best Supporting Actress at the Chungryong Series Awards.
In the released video, IU greeted viewers, saying, “I’m heading to the Chungryong Series Awards handprint event now. I’ll make a nice handprint. Please watch for it.” However, after checking the completed handprint, she laughed and admitted, “I felt like something went wrong, but I couldn’t remove it.”

Her official account posted, “Shining like a summer sun with her beautiful appearance, her handprint is adorably small. Everyone, let’s stay strong through today as well.”
In the photos, IU wore a black mini jacket dress and stood before the camera with a bright smile, taking various poses and meeting fans for the first time in a while. The public appearance also garnered attention as it came approximately two months after she took time away from the spotlight following controversy over historical inaccuracies and acting concerns related to the MBC drama “Perfect Crown” in May.
The recently released photos and videos have resurfaced following the breakup announcement and continue to capture fans’ attention.
