Jang Dong Joo Causes Worry After Troubling Social Media Post, Agency Locates His Whereabouts And Confirms He’s Safe

After posting a cryptic apology and becoming unreachable, actor Jang Dong Joo has been confirmed to be safe.

On October 31, his agency Nexus E&M released an official statement to Newsen, saying, “We have confirmed Jang Dong Joo’s whereabouts.”

They further stated, “Fortunately, he is not in a bad situation.”

Earlier that day, Jang Dong Joo caused concern after posting a black image with the short caption “I’m sorry” on his social media.

Born in 1994, Jang Dong Joo made his debut in 2012 with the play A Midsummer Night’s Dream and has since appeared in various projects such as KBS2’s School 2017, tvN’s Criminal Minds, OCN’s Class of Lies, SBS’s Revenge Is Back, Let Me Be Your Knight, and the films Honest Candidate, Count, and Handsome Guys. In 2021, he made headlines for helping catch a drunk hit-and-run driver after witnessing the incident.

Most recently, he appeared in the Netflix series Trigger, playing Officer Jang Jung Woo, a passionate junior colleague of Lee Do (played by Kim Nam Gil).

Jang Dong Joo has also completed filming for an upcoming SBS’s drama set to premiere next year. The drama is a romantic comedy about a gumiho who refuses to become human and a former soccer star who loses his wish to the gumiho, starring Kim Hye Yoon and Lomon. Jang plays Hyun Woo Seok, a former youth national team soccer prodigy who goes through hardship after a tragic accident.
