Popular Actress Whose Husband Was Sued For Cheating Says They Won’t Divorce, Reveals Reason Why
Actress Jang Shin Young, whose husband was caught in a cheating scandal and was sued because of it, has made it clear that there will be no divorce from her husband, Kang Kyung Joon.
On August 19, Jang Shin Young posted a lengthy message on her Instagram, marking her first public statement about the issue since it arose approximately eight months ago. Kang Kyung Joon had been sued for 50 million won [over $37,000] in damages after being identified as the “other man” in an affair last December. The first trial took place on July 24 of this year, and it concluded with a “consent to claim” decision by the court, effectively ending the legal matter.
Jang Shin Young, who appeared with Kang Kyung Joon on family variety shows like SBS’s “Same Bed, Different Dreams 2” and KBS 2TV’s “The Return of Superman,” acknowledged the deep disappointment and betrayal felt by the public. The couple shares two sons—one from Jang Shin Young’s previous marriage and the other born after their remarriage in 2019.
In her message, Jang Shin Young expressed regret and apologized to those affected by the scandal. She mentioned the difficult days her family endured and her resolve to protect her children, saying, “The hardest time was likely for the children, who had to experience something they shouldn’t have. As a parent, I am endlessly sorry.”
She also made it clear that she and Kang Kyung Joon have decided to stay together for the sake of their children, despite the painful period they went through. She said, “I talked a lot with my husband. We reflected and blamed ourselves countless times. We went through a time of indescribable pain, but for the sake of our children, we have decided to continue living as a family.
Since my feelings are firm, I cautiously ask that you refrain from excessive criticism toward my husband. I’m worried about the possibility of our children coming across such things. I ask for your understanding.”
