Jun Ji Hyun And Ji Chang Wook Confirmed For Upcoming Fantasy Romance Drama, A Legendary Kdrama Pairing Is Happening

“Human x Gumiho” (working title) has confirmed its cast lineup with Jun Ji Hyun and Ji Chang Wook, signaling the start of an enchanting new fantasy romance.

The upcoming JTBC drama, which will also stream globally on Amazon Prime Video, is a fantasy romantic comedy that follows a captivating being who lures humans and a man who attracts supernatural creatures, as their fates intertwine at a mysterious crossroads.

Directed by Kim Jung Shik, known for “Not Others” and “Strong Girl Namsoon,” and written by Im Me Ah Ri, who penned beloved romantic hits like “Doom at Your Service” and “The Beauty Inside,” the project is already drawing significant attention.

The pairing of Jun Ji Hyun and Ji Chang Wook, both returning to the romantic comedy genre after a long time, is heightening anticipation. The two are set to bring to life a fantastical romance through their unique and contrasting characters.

Jun Ji Hyun will play Gu Ja Hong, a two-thousand-year-old gumiho (nine-tailed fox) and top actress whose beauty and charisma captivate everyone around her. With her natural talent for bewitching others, she constantly finds herself surrounded by scandals. But her world changes when she meets the only man immune to her powers, Choi Seok (played by Ji Chang Wook). Drawn to this mysterious man who renders her powerless, she finds herself both intrigued and challenged.

Ji Chang Wook will portray Choi Seok, a gifted shaman and the director of the Five Star Museum. Though he appears lighthearted and easygoing, he possesses a rare ability to sense the unseen sides of the world. When the gumiho suddenly begins crossing into his domain, he becomes fascinated by her and finds his orderly life turned upside down. Having proven his versatility across various genres—and his strong presence in romance.

“Human x Gumiho” will air on JTBC and be available for streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime Video.
