Famous Hallyu Actress Pays Additional $10,000 To Authorities After A Tax Audit

Actress Jun Ji Hyun’s agency has addressed the reports regarding her 2023 tax audit.

On February 10, an official from her agency, IEUM HASHTAG, told SPOTV News, “All key matters were reviewed through proper procedures, and it was confirmed that there are no issues.”

Jun Ji Hyun underwent a tax investigation by the Seoul Regional Tax Office’s Investigation Bureau 2 in September 2023, her first audit in about nine years since the one conducted by the Gangnam Tax Office in 2014.

Her agency explained, “There was a difference in interpretation between the tax accountant and the National Tax Service regarding the treatment of certain expenses, which led to a discrepancy. As a result, around 20 million won (around $13,781) in additional tax was paid. This is a common adjustment that can occur during regular tax reviews.”

They emphasized, “The additional tax payment has nothing to do with any serious tax issues or illegal activities.”

Jun Ji Hyun is widely known as a prominent figure in the real estate sector within the entertainment industry. She is set to appear in Disney+’s original series “Polaris” alongside Kang Dong Won later this year.
