Beloved Rising Korean Actress Passes Away At 31 After Battle With Cancer
Actress Kang Seo Ha (real name Kang Ye Won) has passed away after battling cancer. She was 31 years old.
Her funeral is being held in Room 8 of the funeral hall at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital (Catholic University of Korea). The funeral procession will take place at 7:40 a.m. on the 16th. She will be laid to rest at her family’s burial site in Hamam, Gyeongnam.
Her younger sibling shared their grief on social media, writing, “I still can’t believe it. Even while enduring all that pain, she worried about others… about me.”
They continued, “Even while enduring everything with painkillers, she said she was ‘grateful’ that it wasn’t worse. I felt so ashamed of myself. You went through so much, unnie. Please be happy and free from pain where you are now.”
Born in 1994, Kang Seo Ha was a graduate of the Korea National University of Arts’ School of Drama. She debuted in 2012 through the music video for “Getting Farther Away” by Brave Guys, and went on to appear in dramas such as “Seonam Girls High School Investigators,” “Again, My Love,” and “Heart Surgeons.”
Her final work is the film “Mangnaein,” which recently wrapped filming.
