Despite Its Star-Studded Cast And Climactic Ending, This Kdrama Drops To Its Lowest Ratings For Its Finale Episode
The KBS drama “Twelve” has come to a quiet end!
On September 15, the finale of “Twelve” aired and it scored an average nationwide rating of 2.4% according to Nielsen Korea, marking the lowest rating of the drama in its entire run. The ratings shocked many fans since generally, Kdramas finale episodes usually bounce back as people tune in to see how it ends but with “Twelve,” the drama came to a quiet end with its lowest rating in its entire run.
The ratings have been a hot topic of discussion especially since the drama was up to a stellar start when it premiered. The first episode had recorded 8.1% in ratings, taking the 1st spot in its timeslot. The drama’s 2nd episode then saw a decline to 5.9% and 4.2% for its 3rd and 4th episodes respectively.
The drama was facing an uphill battle because of its competition. tvN’s series “Bon Appétit, Your Majesty” is competing in the same timeslot and has already broken through the double digits in ratings. That dramas has been enjoying rising ratings with each episode and its latest one has recorded an average of 15.4% in ratings nationwide.
“Twelve” tells the story of twelve angels who live in human form to protect mankind while battling against evil forces. It stars Ma Dong Seok, who established himself with a unique character in the film “The Outlaws” and achieved a huge box office hit. The drama also stars Park Hyung Sik, Seo In Guk and many more hit names.
