Kim Go Eun Confirmed For “Yumi’s Cells” Season 3, Broadcast Plans Revealed

The drama “Yumi’s Cells” is returning for Season 3 with actress Kim Go Eun.

TVING’s original series “Yumi’s Cells Season 3” (written by Song Jae Jung and Kim Kyung Ran, directed by Lee Sang Yeob) is a romantic drama that follows Yumi (played by Kim Go Eun), who returns as a star writer, along with the cells that still care about nothing but her, as they experience growth once again and continue their story of love as always.

Based on the legendary Naver webtoon of the same name by Lee Dong Geon, “Yumi’s Cells” humorously and realistically depicts Yumi’s life as she eats, loves, and grows alongside her personified brain cells. It received tremendous love for its innovative mix of live-action and 3D animation, a first in Korea, and was praised as an evolution in drama format. The creative concept of anthropomorphized cells, combined with a realistic storyline and seamless direction that intertwined Yumi’s real world and her inner cell village, brought viewers a fresh, relatable experience. Following the highly popular Seasons 1 and 2, Season 3 is making its return after three years, sparking an enthusiastic response from fans.

Director Lee Sang Yeob and writers Song Jae Jung and Kim Kyung Ran, who worked on the previous seasons, have reunited for Season 3, heightening expectations. Kim Go Eun’s return is another reason fans are eagerly awaiting the new season.

In Season 3, Yumi, who has achieved her dream of becoming a writer, is faced with an unexpected romance. Her sudden fluttering feelings stir up the once-calm cell village. Kim Go Eun is set to depict a more mature Yumi with even more wit and charm. “Yumi’s Cells Season 3” is scheduled to premiere in the first half of 2026 on TVING.
