Kim Jung Hoon Set To Make His 1st Korean Drama Comeback In 6 Years Following Several Controversies

Actor Kim Jung Hoon, formerly a member of the group UN, is set to make his return to acting with the drama “Couple Scandal.”

On October 10, a representative from his agency told Star News, “Kim Jung Hoon will appear in the drama ‘Couple Scandal’).”

According to the agency, Kim Jung Hoon was offered the role while participating in the drama’s OST recording. Since he speaks Japanese, he was cast in a role that aligns with his language skills.

“Couple Scandal” is a drama that depicts the secrets, affairs, surveillance, and revenge among couples living in an upscale villa. Kim Jung Hoon will play the role of Woo Jin, a psychological counselor.

This marks Kim Jung Hoon’s return to the domestic entertainment scene for the first time in about six years since the 2019 TV Chosun variety program “Taste of Dating.” He halted his activities following a controversy involving his ex-girlfriend A in 2019, the allegations included pressuring her to have an abortion and a financial dispute.

Later, in December 2023, Kim Jung Hoon caused an accident when he rear-ended a car ahead of him in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. He was summarily indicted on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (refusal to take a breathalyzer test) and violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents (causing injury), and was fined 10 million won [$7,035]. Prior to that, in 2011, Kim was also booked for drunk driving and had his license revoked.
