Kim Jung Hyun Reportedly Apologies To Seohyun Live At The 2024 KBS Drama Awards, 6 Years After His Attitude Controversy

Actor Kim Jung Hyun has issued a belated apology nearly six years after the controversy surrounding his attitude during the MBC drama “Time.”

According to a report by SPOTV News on January 2, Kim Jung Hyun directly apologized during the recording of the “2024 KBS Drama Awards” held on December 31.

In July 2018, during the press conference for “Time,” Kim Jung Hyun caused a stir by rejecting co-star Seohyun’s attempt to link arms and maintaining an expressionless demeanor throughout the event. Shortly after, he withdrew from the drama citing health reasons, leaving Seohyun to carry the drama to its completion with dedication.

Subsequent claims emerged that Kim Jung Hyun’s behavior was influenced by gaslighting from his then-girlfriend, actress Seo Ye Ji. It was alleged that she pressured him to act rudely not only toward Seohyun but also toward female staff members. Both Kim Jung Hyun and Seo Ye Ji denied the allegations. However, in 2021, Kim Jung Hyun issued a handwritten apology, acknowledging his mistakes and expressing regret for his actions during the press conference and his abrupt departure from the drama.

At the “2024 KBS Drama Awards,” Kim Jung Hyun addressed his past behavior, saying, “I have done many things worth reflecting on, and it has weighed heavily on my heart. I truly wanted to apologize,” before bowing his head. He refrained from mentioning specific individuals, including Seohyun.

It remains uncertain whether his apology will be broadcast, as the “2024 KBS Drama Awards” was pre-recorded, leaving room for possible editing.

Although Kim Jung Hyun has expressed his remorse through official statements and interviews in the past, this marks the first time he has publicly apologized in person. Many are watching closely to see if his apology will be aired and how it will be received.
