Kim Sae Ron And Lee Chae Min’s 2021 Film Announces Release 5 Years After Filming
Another posthumous work by the late actress Kim Sae Ron is set for release. It is the youth romance film “We Are Every Day,” filmed alongside rising star actor Lee Chae Min and directed by Kim Min Jae.
Distributor J&C Media Group recently announced that “Everyday We Are” will be released in February. The film tells the story that begins one day before entering high school, when Ho Soo (played by Lee Chae Min) suddenly confesses his feelings to Yeo Wool (played by Kim Sae Ron). It is based on a webtoon of the same name that recorded over 16 million views on KakaoPage.
As a result, “We Are Every Day,” which began filming in 2021, will finally be released about five years later. The movie depicts Lee Chae Min and Kim Sae Ron portraying high school students who share a fresh and innocent first love. With several romance films recently leading the trend in Korean cinema, there is anticipation that this film will continue that atmosphere.
The delay in the film’s release is believed to be due to various controversies that arose following the tragic news of the lead actress, Kim Sae Ron.
Kim Sae Ron passed away suddenly on February 16 of 2025. According to police, she was found deceased at her home in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, at around 4:54 p.m. that day. She was 24 years old.
Born in July 2000, Kim Sae Ron made her debut as a magazine cover model as an infant in 2001. In 2009, she became the youngest actor to be invited to the Cannes International Film Festival through the movie “A Brand New Life.” Despite being only nine years old at the time, she drew attention from the film industry with her delicate acting. She then rose to fame as a child star after appearing in the 2010 film “The Man from Nowhere,” starring Won Bin.
Afterward, Kim Sae Ron appeared various projects across the years cementing her name as a trusted actress. However, in May 2022, her acting career declined following a controversy in which she was booked by police for drunk driving and failing to properly handle an accident.
Even after apologizing, her return to the industry was not easy, and reports surfaced that she was working part-time at a café due to financial difficulties. After her passing, allegations emerged regarding an “underage dating” rumor involving actor Kim Soo Hyun, leading to disputes between her family and Kim Soo Hyun’s side over the facts surrounding related incidents.
