Kim Sae Ron’s Family Files Lawsuit Against Kim Soo Hyun For Violating The Child Welfare Act, Holds Emergency Press Conference Sharing New Shocking Voice Recording
The family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron has stated that they have filed a complaint against actor Kim Soo Hyun for violating the Child Welfare Act and shared a shocking new recording of the late Kim Sae Ron.
Attorney Bu Ji Seok from the law firm Buyou, legal representative for the family of the late Kim Sae Ron, held a press conference on the 7th of May and announced that they submitted a complaint against Kim Soo Hyun that day for violating the Child Welfare Act and for false accusation.
In the released recording, Kim Sae Ron is seen heard to her friend and telling them how she dated Kim Soo Hyun from middle school and broke up in college. She added, “Soo Hyun oppa and those GOLDMEDALIST people are really scary and will do anything.”
In the recording she also said: “The first time I did it with him was during winter break in my second year of middle school. Thinking about it now, it was done to me. Not many people know about when I dated him in middle school, but they all reacted the same way. They asked why I just let him be.”
Regarding the lawsuit filed The lawyer claimed, “We confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun made the late Kim Sae Ron engage in obscene acts or sexually harassed and abused her from the time she was a minor in the winter break of her second year of middle school.”
They repeated the assertion that Kim Soo Hyun dated the late Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, and added, “We filed a complaint accusing Kim Soo Hyun of making a false accusation with the intent to have the bereaved family face criminal punishment.”
Additionally, they reported that an anonymous informant, who had rejected a bribe offer of tens of billions of won in exchange for important evidence, was attacked with a weapon and threatened, and that they have requested a police investigation. They also requested police protection for the family and for Kim Se Ui, the operator of the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute, who has publicly shared the family’s claims.

I am Bu Ji Seok, attorney at law firm Buyou, representing the family of the late Kim Sae Ron. We held a press conference on March 27. The reason was to put an end to the controversy by presenting evidence that the late Kim Sae Ron and Kim Soo Hyun were in a relationship when she was a minor. The family hoped for an apology from Kim Soo Hyun, but what they received in return was a damage lawsuit worth about 12 billion won and a criminal complaint. Kim Soo Hyun consistently denied ever dating her during her time as a minor and declared through a press conference that he would prove the truth through investigative authorities. In response, the family has been cooperating fully with the investigation, submitting all materials requested.
However, despite his statement that he would prove the truth through the investigation, Kim Soo Hyun has repeatedly claimed that the evidence is fabricated. YouTubers like Lee Jin Ho are also making similar claims without clear grounds. At the same time, Kim Soo Hyun has been filing numerous lawsuits against the family. Despite this, the family chose to remain silent, believing that the truth would come to light through official investigations.
Under these circumstances, a whistleblower helping the family recently received a bribe offer of tens of billions of won for the important evidence they possessed. After refusing, their personal safety was seriously threatened. We ask for your understanding in holding another press conference under such urgent conditions.
On that day, through our law firm, the family filed a complaint against Kim Soo Hyun for violating the Child Welfare Act and for false accusation. Article 17, Clause 2 of the Child Welfare Act punishes those who make children engage in obscene acts, mediate such acts, or commit sexual harassment or abuse against them. The family confirmed that Kim Soo Hyun engaged the late Kim Sae Ron in obscene acts or sexually harassed her from the winter break of her second year in middle school, when she was still a minor, and filed a complaint under the Child Welfare Act.
Kim Soo Hyun had been dating the late Kim Sae Ron since she was a minor. Nevertheless, Kim Soo Hyun filed a defamation complaint against the family, who are simply stating the truth. In response, the family filed a complaint accusing Kim Soo Hyun of false accusation intended to bring about their criminal punishment.
Along with this complaint, a request for investigation was submitted to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. As mentioned earlier, the informant was attacked with a weapon and nearly lost their life. It was found that the attacker was an ethnic Korean from China who had recently entered the U.S., and the person who brought them to the attack site was also a Korean who had recently entered the U.S. A request for investigation was submitted to identify this Korean individual and determine the exact motive and circumstances of the attack.
In addition to threats against the informant, suspicious stalking vehicles have been seen near the home of the late Kim Sae Ron’s aunt. Therefore, we earnestly request police protection for the bereaved family and for Mr. Kim Se Ui.
