Kim Sejeong‘s side has pushed back on a rumor that she purchased a penthouse worth roughly 3 billion won (approximately $2.02 million).

On July 15, agency BH Entertainment told SPOTV News, “It’s true that Kim Sejeong purchased a home,” but added, “The report that she bought a 3 billion won (approximately $2.02 million) penthouse is not accurate.”

Regarding the specific purchase amount, the agency said, “As it’s the actor’s private matter, it’s difficult to confirm.”

A media outlet had reported that day that Kim Sejeong purchased a roughly 3 billion won (approximately $2.02 million) penthouse located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. In response, her agency confirmed the home purchase itself but drew a line at the specific amount.

Kim Sejeong debuted as a member of I.O.I after placing second overall on the 2016 Mnet survival show “Produce 101.” She later re-debuted as a member of the group Gugudan, and made her acting debut in 2017 through the KBS2 drama “School 2017.”

Since then, she has built a solid presence as an actor through works including “The Uncanny Counter,” “Business Proposal,” “Today’s Webtoon,” “Brewing Love,” and “Moon River.”

I.O.I, the group she’s part of, reunited for the first time in nine years to release a new album this past May in celebration of their 10th debut anniversary, and continues its long-running popularity with the title track “Deo (Suddenly).”
