Kim Soo Hyun Files A New Additional Lawsuit Against Garo Seo Institute
Actor Kim Soo Hyun’s side has filed an additional criminal complaint against Kim Se Ui, the operator of the YouTube channel “Garo Sero Research Institute (가세연),” for alleged violation of the Anti-Stalking Act.
On April 30, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency Gold Medalist and its legal representative LKB & Partners released a statement saying, “Gold Medalist and actor Kim Soo Hyun have today filed an additional criminal complaint against Kim Se Ui, operator of the YouTube channel ‘Garo Sero Research Institute,’ for violating the Anti-Stalking Act.”
They added that a previous complaint had already been submitted on April 1. Despite a court order delivered on April 24 prohibiting stalking behavior, Kim Se Ui allegedly ignored the decision and continued to spread false claims about Kim Soo Hyun through his YouTube channel.
The law firm further stated, “Kim Se Ui’s actions disregard the court’s ruling and are punishable by up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 20 million won under Article 20, Paragraph 2 of the Anti-Stalking Act. Gold Medalist and Kim Soo Hyun have therefore filed an additional complaint without delay.”
Previously, the channel claimed that Kim Soo Hyun had dated the late actress Kim Sae Ron since 2015, when she was just 15 years old. Kim Soo Hyun’s side acknowledged their relationship but clarified it began only after she became an adult.
Due to the controversy, Kim Soo Hyun halted his advertising and broadcasting activities. His agency has also filed lawsuits against the YouTube channel for defamation, blackmail, violations of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, and is pursuing a substantial damages claim.
