Kim Soo Hyun Is Resuming His Activities Next Month, Set To Film A Commercial In The Philippines

Actor Kim Soo Hyun is set to resume activities through an advertising shoot for the first time in about a year.

On June 8, a representative from his agency Gold Medalist confirmed that “Kim Soo Hyun will participate in a commercial shoot for a Philippine fashion brand on July 14.”

This marks his first confirmed activity in approximately a year since private-life allegations involving the late Kim Sae Ron surfaced in March of last year.

Kim Se Ui of Garo Sero Institute had claimed through YouTube broadcasts and other channels that Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor and that pressure from Kim Soo Hyun’s side regarding debt repayment contributed to her death.

According to the report, a police investigation found that the audio file presented as evidence had been manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI), while the message conversations submitted as evidence had also been fabricated from another person’s conversations.

As a result, the court issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se Ui on May 26, citing concerns about the destruction of evidence and the possibility of flight. Although he later requested a review of his detention, the court reportedly rejected the request on September 2.

On June 5, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency commented on the news of Kim Se Ui’s detention and transfer to prosecutors, stating: “Although Kim Soo Hyun was not a direct party to the case and waited for the legal process to take its course, we sincerely thank everyone who continued to speak out on his behalf for a long time.”

The agency also said: “We would like to express our deep gratitude to the investigative authorities who diligently carried out their responsibilities behind the scenes and pursued the truth based solely on evidence and facts, as well as to the judicial authorities who made fair and strict decisions regarding the suspect’s detention.”
