Kim Soo Hyun Reveals First Campaign Photos Since His Massive Controversy

Actor Kim Soo Hyun has released his first campaign photos since the controversy that engulfed him last year, marking his first advertising activity since returning to work.

Philippine fashion brand BENCH recently unveiled a new collection campaign featuring Kim Soo Hyun. The campaign is his first ad activity following roughly a year and four months out of the spotlight, and had already drawn heavy attention before its release.

The items Kim Soo Hyun wore in the campaign have reportedly sold out. The denim jacket he wore was listed under BENCH’s official online store with Kim Soo Hyun’s name attached to the product title, and sold out in every size. Some sizes of the other pieces released alongside it also sold out.

Kim Soo Hyun had earlier signaled his return to activities on July 14, when BENCH CEO Ben Chan shared a photo of the two of them together on social media, writing, “Kim Soo Hyun, back together with the BENCH family.” In the photo, Kim Soo Hyun was smiling, though his somewhat gaunt appearance also drew attention.

Kim Se Eui, head of the YouTube channel Garosero Institute, was sued for allegedly spreading rumors that Kim Soo Hyun had dated the late Kim Sae Ron while she was a minor; he was recently detained and referred to prosecution. Disputes with some advertisers who had filed damage suits against Kim Soo Hyun over the matter are also reportedly moving toward resolution.
