Kim Soo Hyun’s Press Conference: The Actor Denies Allegations + Files 12 Billion Won Lawsuit Against Kim Sae Ron’s Family

Kim Soo Hyun has attended an emergency press conference today to address the various controversies surrounding him.

On March 31, Kim Soo Hyun along with his lawyers and Gold Medalist CEO attended his emergency press conference. The actor, showed up holding a paper, and greeted reporters with a bow.

He is embroiled in controversy for allegedly dating Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor. And he’s also involved in various other controversies including the treatment of Sulli during the filming of his 2017 movie “Real.”

He started off by saying: “First of all, I am sorry. It seems that too many people are suffering because of me alone. And I feel nothing but sorrow, as it seems that even the deceased is unable to rest in peace.

He said, “I kept wondering what would have happened if I had just spoken about everything from the beginning at this very place. If I had done that, maybe the fans who love me and the company staff who worked so hard to arrange this press conference wouldn’t have suffered so much.

Every time my private matters with the deceased were exposed, I kept thinking, ‘Tomorrow, I should just talk about everything,’ ‘I should speak up myself and put an end to this hellish situation.’ But each time, I hesitated. Kim Soo Hyun then added, “When ‘Queen of Tears’ was airing, and the deceased posted a picture of us together, I felt the same way. The deceased and I were in a relationship for about a year, five years ago—four years before ‘Queen of Tears’ aired. But at that time, I denied our relationship. I fully understand that people criticize me for that choice. And I also understand if people don’t believe what I say now about what happened between me and the deceased. He continued, “As an actor, I received an overwhelming amount of love. Originally, I was someone who didn’t have much, but I suddenly became a person with too much to protect. When ‘Queen of Tears’ aired, as the lead actor, I had many responsibilities to uphold. I kept wondering—if I acknowledged my past relationship from years ago, what would happen? What would it mean for my co-stars, the staff working tirelessly on set, the production company that put everything into this project, and the people in my agency?”

Kim Soo Hyun also firmly denied allegations that they dated when she was a minor, stating, “I will address the part people are most curious about. I did not date the deceased when she was underage. Additionally, the claims that she made a tragic decision because I turned my back on her or because my agency pressured her over debt are also untrue.”

He further explained, “Aside from the fact that I am an actor, the deceased and I were just an ordinary couple like anyone else. We had good feelings for each other, and as time passed, we eventually broke up. After that, we rarely kept in touch.”

He continued, “At the request of the actor, we have filed complaints against the deceased’s family members, including an individual who claims to be her aunt, as well as the YouTube channel ‘Garo Sero Institute,’ for violations of information protection laws and defamation. Additionally, we have submitted a damage claim amounting to approximately 12 billion won (about $8,176,618 million). As these matters are now subject to legal investigation, we will not be holding a Q&A session.”

He stated, “The evidence revealed by Kim Sae Ron’s family through the YouTube channel ‘Garo Sero Institute’ is not the original but has been edited.”

He continued, “The photo that was claimed to be from 2016 was actually taken in 2019. Fake evidence keeps being released simply because I was in a relationship with the deceased. The family recently also revealed a messenger conversation that they claim I had with the deceased. Based on this, they are trying to label me as a ‘pedophile’ and accuse me of ‘grooming a minor.'”

He further stated, “The person conversing with the deceased in that chat is someone else. To prove this, I submitted the evidence provided by the family along with my conversations with acquaintances to a forensic verification institution. The results confirmed that the person in the conversation was not me.”

Kim Soo hyun addresses pressuring Kim Sae Ron through 2^nd official notice regarding debt

Kim Soo Hyun also addressed allegations that his agency pressured Kim Sae Ron by sending a second official notice. “The family claims that my agency was pressuring the deceased when they sent the second official notice. But I ask you to listen to a phone call between my agency’s CEO and Kim Sae Ron’s last agency’s CEO from a year ago,” he said.

He then played an audio recording of a conversation between the CEO of Gold Medalist and the CEO of Kim Sae Ron’s last agency. In the recording, the Gold Medalist CEO stated, “A legal notice will be sent, but don’t be alarmed. It’s just an administrative procedure that has to be done.”

Kim Soo Hyun emphasized, “I am willing to acknowledge any wrongdoing on my part. If I need to take responsibility for something, I believe I should. But I cannot admit to something I did not do.”

He concluded, “Ever since these allegations began, whenever my agency and I refute the family’s evidence, suddenly new, freshly recorded testimonies emerge. Photos and videos with altered timelines, rather than the originals, are being released. Even after this press conference, I fear what might be revealed next. I won’t ask you to believe me—I will prove it.”
