Known Supporting Actor Shocks With Current Whereabouts, Running His Own Restaurant
Actor Song Jong ho has shared an update on his life, revealing that he’s now working as the owner of a meat restaurant.
On the SBS show “My Ugly Duckling,” which aired on July 12, Song Jong ho joined as a new “ugly duckling” cast member.
MC Shin Dong yup warmly greeted Song Jong ho’s mother, who visited the studio, saying, “You’re tall and quite the beauty.”
Kim Hee chul’s mother also welcomed her, bringing up the connection between Kim Hee chul and Song Jong ho by saying, “She appeared as our son’s sibling in the drama ‘Golden Bride.'”
Song Jong ho’s mother expressed her worry, saying, “My son is 51 this year. What’s pathetic is that he still hasn’t gotten married.”
The segment then moved on to show Song Jong ho’s daily life.
Born in 1976, Song Jong ho had been on a career hiatus of about three and a half years since appearing in the 2023 tvN drama “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun.”
In the footage, Song Jong ho arrived at the meat restaurant and began preparing for business, starting by checking sales figures at the counter.
While trimming ingredients with staff in the kitchen, Song Jong ho opened up about his thoughts on marriage, saying, “These days, I find myself thinking about what it would be like to have a kid. I wonder if I’ll ever be able to get married.”
Once business got underway, he greeted customers and even handled valet parking himself.
Song Jong ho explained how he came to run the restaurant, saying, “It’s been about three and a half years since I’ve done acting work. As the work gradually dried up and the roles got smaller, I started worrying more and more about how I’d make a living if I couldn’t work as an actor anymore. That’s when a senior colleague offered to go into business together.”
He continued, “I still want to keep acting, but I also need to make a living. Since my face is somewhat known and I’ve done quite a few projects, I don’t really get audition offers. I’ve even thought it might be better to go out and audition on my own instead.”
“My Ugly Duckling” airs every Sunday at 9 p.m.
