Actress Ku Hye Sun has stirred up ‘controversy’ after appearing on a broadcast wearing a hat.

On the January 15th episode of MBC’s Radio Star, themed “My Clear Second Act,” Ku Hye Sun appeared alongside Choo Shin Soo, Kwak Si Yang, and Yoon Nam No.

While the other guests were dressed neatly, Ku Hye Sun appeared with her long hair down and wearing a hat. She started by saying, “I brought a lot of oil blotting papers for the shoot today,” and shared, “I have acne-prone skin, and without oil blotting papers, my makeup comes off completely, so I use more than 10 sheets a day.”

She explained her choice to wear a hat during the recording, saying, “I was planning to wash up today, but the boiler broke. So I couldn’t wash my hair and had to wear a hat. The PD suggested I take off the hat for the recording, but I couldn’t in this situation.”

In response, co-host Kim Gura commented, “Your skin is oily, and you couldn’t wash your hair—what are you going to do?” showing concern.

After the broadcast, online communities were flooded with mixed opinions about Ku Hye Sun’s appearance. Some viewers criticized her behavior as “inappropriate” and “disrespectful,” while others defended her, stating, “Wearing a hat is her choice.”

As the controversy escalated, Ku Hye Sun addressed it on her SNS on January 16th, posting, “Wearing a hat is my freedom. While I’m at it, here’s my hat collection,” along with several photos showcasing various hats.
