Despite Being Close To Her Due Date, Famous Actress Attends Her New Netflix Drama Press Event

Lee Honey has made headlines for attending her upcoming Netflix drama “Aema” press conference despite being close to her due date!

At the press conference held on August 19, Lee Honey was asked about her health. She replied, “It doesn’t seem like the baby will come out today, so I came. I wanted to at least greet everyone about the project I took part in. My health is very good, and I’m scheduled to give birth next week.”

On the drama Aema, she explained, “It’s a story about Chungmuro in the 1980s. At that time, Chungmuro was synonymous with Korean cinema. Within the relationships of actors, staff, and production companies back then, it’s a story about fighting against harsh realities and bravely winning things through perseverance.”

On transforming herself into an actress of that era, she said, “I paid attention to everything from head to toe, including voice and image tone, to become a perfect 1980s actress. If I didn’t, I was immediately called out. I don’t usually wear heels, but if I tried to wear different shoes, I’d instantly get a call on the walkie-talkie. There was no way to cheat.” (she laughed as she recalled the difficulties).

Reflecting on the film industry then versus now, she said, “Back then, I was a rookie, so I couldn’t speak up, and I still carry memories that left scars. Things have improved a lot for the younger generation now, but there are still areas that need change.”

Finally, she added, “What we’re doing is telling stories about human lives, and I believe we can keep moving forward in that regard. If I were to face the same situations as before, I don’t think I would stay silent—I’d speak firmly, as I actually do now.”

Netflix’s new series “Aema” will air this Friday on August 22.
