Woman Claims Actor’s Agency Gave Her Hush Money For Cheating, Two Beloved Actors Caught In The Rumors, Both Deny Any Involvement
An unverified post written by a woman has caused chaos as she claims she was given hush money to stay silent about an ex-boyfriend who is an actor set to marry soon.
Recently, an anonymous post titled “My ex-boyfriend’s agency sent me 8 million won [around $5,000]” was uploaded to a workplace community platform. In the post, a person identified as “A” alleged that their ex-boyfriend, a celebrity, had cheated on them and claimed that his agency sent 8 million won as hush money.
A claimed, “I was told that within half a year, he’ll appear on a variety show revealing the process of preparing to marry his new girlfriend, but the timeline wouldn’t match up — so they sent 8 million won in advance as ‘consolation money.’ When I asked what that meant, they said the air date might make it seem like he was still with me, implying it was a rebound breakup. Meaning, he either cheated or left me for someone else.”
A went on to say, “They asked me not to bring it up publicly, saying, ‘You weren’t even planning to marry him anyway, right?’”
Although the post offered no evidence, speculation began to spread after a comment claimed the man was a male actor in his 30s. Soon, several male celebrities preparing for marriage were mentioned online, resulting in secondary harm. In particular, initials like “ㅇㅈㅇ” were mentioned in comments, dragging many male celebrities into the rumor mill.
One of them was Actor On Joo Wan, who is set to marry actress and former Girl’s Day member Bang Minah.
On the 30th of July, his agency Haewadal Entertainment addressed the “hush money for cheating” rumor through SPOTV News, stating, “Actor On Joo Wan has no connection whatsoever to the rumor. The claims made in the post are completely false.”
Additionally, another actor was caught in the rumors as well. Lee Jang Woo also denied the claims via a close associate of Lee Jang Woo who told MK Sports, “We didn’t even know this issue existed. The situation being brought up is absurd. It’s absolutely not true.”
