Actor In His 40s Under Investigation For Hitting His Wife, Agency Issues Rebuttal And Explains The Situation
A 40s actor suspected of hitting his wife has been revealed to be Lee Ji Hoon (46).
Police were dispatched to Lee Ji Hoon’s apartment in Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do, on the afternoon of the 24th of last month. At the time, Lee Ji Hoon and his wife were having an argument, and Lee Ji Hoon reportedly tried to leave the house. During the process of his wife trying to stop him, a scuffle occurred, leading to the police being called. Lee Ji Hoon was investigated on assault charges, but it was revealed that his wife did not wish to press charges.
Lee Ji Hoon’s agency, Y1 Entertainment addressed the matter in a statement on the 14th of August, they wrote, “The ‘40s actor A’ reported today is indeed our actor Lee Ji Hoon.”
They continued, “During an argument between the couple, the spouse called the police, but after statements and confirmation on-site, it was determined that it was not a serious matter. There was no assault, and the spouse clearly stated that she had no intention to press charges. The case is currently undergoing closure procedures.”
The agency added, “We deeply apologize for causing concern to the public due to this incident. Both Lee Ji Hoon and his spouse are reflecting on the matter.”
Lee Ji Hoon passed the KBS 20th open recruitment for talents and debuted in 2003 with “You Will Know.” He is a senior from the same department (Theater and Film, Chung-Ang University) as Ha Jung Woo, who is one year older, and appeared in all the films Ha Jung Woo directed, including “Rollercoaster,” “Chronicle of a Blood Merchant,” and “Lobby.” He has also appeared in “Tazza: One Eyed Jack,” “The Roundup: No Way Out,” “The Roundup: Punishment,” and dramas “Korea–Goryeo Khitan War,” “The Killer’s Shopping List,” and “Trigger.”
