Lee Min Ho Reveals SM Entertainment Street-Cast Him Three Times, Here Is Why He Declined
Lee Min Ho has surprised fans by sharing a tidbit about himself!
The December 25th (Wednesday) broadcast of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block (Episode 274), themed “Miracles Exist,” featured a diverse lineup of guests including actor Lee Min Ho, marking his 1st talk show appearance in some time.
During the episode, Yoo Jae Suk asked Lee Min Ho, “Was being an actor your dream since childhood?” Lee Min Ho responded, “Actually, my dream was to become a soccer player. I only played soccer until my first year of middle school. I had to give up that dream after getting injured. At the time, I had made it to the Seoul city representative team.”
Yoo Jae Suk speculated, “If you had continued playing soccer, you might have become a global star.” He also mentioned that Lee Min Ho and his friend, actor Jung Il Woo, were famously known as the “Two Kings of Daebang-dong” for their good looks, earning the title of local heartthrobs.
Lee Min Ho recalled how, as a student, his social media mini-homepage would receive thousands of visitors daily.
Lee Min Ho also revealed that SM tried to recruit him as a trainee, he shared, “Street casting was trendy back then. I was cast by SM Entertainment three times during middle school.” However, he explained why he ultimately declined the offers, saying, “I wasn’t skilled in dancing or singing and wondered why they wanted me.”
