According to her post, during her marriage, she was preparing for her second child through in vitro fertilization (IVF), but time passed without implanting the fertilized embryo. As talks of divorce arose and their legal relationship was being resolved, she decided to proceed with the embryo transfer just before the frozen embryo’s storage period expired. Lee Si Young stated that although her partner did not agree with this decision, she would take full responsibility for it.

I am currently pregnant.
The reason I am taking this opportunity to speak first is that I believe it is better to prevent misunderstandings and speculation that may arise in the future.
Eight years ago, when I was pregnant with Jung Yoon, who is now the most precious person in my life, I was not yet married and was filming a drama.
Back then, I was younger and very much inexperienced.
Every year as I watched Jung Yoon grow, I regretted and blamed myself for the times I spent feeling anxious and negative, even for a moment.
Because of that, I promised myself that if life ever came to me again, I would never repeat the same regrets.
During my marriage, I prepared for a second child through IVF.

I have always wanted a child. I did not want to repeat the regrets I felt through Jung Yoon, and I absolutely could not discard the embryo whose storage period was coming to an end.
The one thing that helped me endure the difficult married life was the angel-like child who filled me with happiness, hope, and emotion.

Right now, I am full of gratitude for the new life that has come to me, and I am spending a more peaceful and happy time than ever before.
