Famous Model-Actor Reportedly Conducts A 12-Hour Fansign Meeting In China Drenched In Sweat, Agency Issues Initial Response

Fans are furious after reports of Model and actor Lee Soo Hyuk being overworked after enduring an excessively long schedule at his fan meeting in China, go viral. As the controversy intensified, his agency expressed regret, calling it an “unexpected situation.”

On August 30, Lee Soo Hyuk held his solo fan meeting “Eternal Magic Hour: He Lan Xin Dong” in Hangzhou, China. According to his agency Saram Entertainment, tickets sold out within just two minutes of going on sale, proving Lee Soo Hyuk’s immense local popularity.

However, Taiwan’s EBC claimed on September 1 that “due to excessive ticket sales by the organizers, Lee Soo Hyuk had to sign autographs for thousands of people over the course of 12 hours.”

Originally planned as a 6-hour-and-30-minute event, the fan meeting was reportedly extended to 12 hours because the organizer oversold tickets. To make matters worse, the air conditioning broke down, leaving Lee Soo Hyuk drenched in sweat as he continued the event. Despite this, the organizers reportedly even asked him to sign an additional 500 posters.

By the time he was leaving the venue, Lee Soo Hyuk appeared pale and was seen staggering. Photos that circulated online showed his shirt completely soaked in sweat. Fans reacted angrily, saying, “The organizers didn’t even treat Lee Soo Hyuk like a human being.”

On September 3, Saram Entertainment stated, “We deeply regret the unexpected situations that occurred during the event. We will do our best to move forward in a better direction.”

At the same time, they added, “Above all, we hope that the sincerity of the artist, who did his best under the given circumstances, and the love of the fans who were with him, will not lose their meaning. We hope this long-awaited meeting, held after ten years, will remain a precious memory for everyone.” This statement, which seemed to romanticize the situation, left fans feeling perplexed.

The agency also failed to mention whether any action would be taken against the organizers, only saying, “We sincerely thank all the partners, staff, and organizers who worked hard for the fan meeting.”

Meanwhile, Lee Soo Hyuk left YG Entertainment, where he had been for a long time, and signed with Saram Entertainment in July.
