The Famous Korean Actor Who Mentioned His Ex Girlfriend Actress During His Acceptance Speech At An Award Show

Actor Lee Yi Kyung’s reunion with his ex-girlfriend, Jung In Sun, at an official event has become a hot topic.

On December 28, Lee Yi Kyung attended the “2024 SeoulCON APAN Star Awards” held at the Art Hall of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul, where he won the Excellence Award for an Actor in a Miniseries for his role in tvN’s “Marry My Husband.”

During his acceptance speech, Lee Yi Kyung shared, “For actors, the way to meet each other is through working on projects. Even if we don’t get to work together, meeting at an awards ceremony is a moment to be grateful for. I never thought I’d get to meet Jung In Sun again, and I sincerely thank the judges for making that possible. Congratulations to Jung In Sun on her award.”

Jung In Sun responded with a smile. On the same day, she received the Excellence Award for an Actress in a Short Drama or Web Series for her performance in tvN’s “Opening – Grand Shining Hotel.”

Lee Yi Kyung continued, saying, “I am deeply grateful to everyone involved in ‘Marry My Husband.’ This award is particularly meaningful because I have been primarily active in variety shows, and now many people are recognizing my acting. Taking on a villainous role helped me receive this honor, which makes it even more special. For those who might be thinking, ‘Why is he winning this award?’ I encourage you to watch the drama.”

Lee Yi Kyung and Jung In Sun were romantically involved for about a year after meeting through mutual acquaintances in 2017. The following year, they both starred in JTBC’s drama Welcome to Waikiki, but they announced their breakup just a month and a half after publicly confirming their relationship.
