Beloved Korean Actor Passes Away Abruptly Causing Shock In The Industry

Actor Lee Yoon Hee passed away unexpectedly on the 11th at the age of 64. Known to have been in good health, the sudden news of his death has come as a shock to many.

His wake has been set up at the VIP Room 1 of Ulsan Hospital Funeral Hall, where his spouse and two sons are receiving mourners. The funeral service will be held on the morning of the 13th at 8 a.m., and his burial site has been decided as Ulsan Sky Park.

Lee’s agency, Beom Entertainment, expressed its condolences through an official statement: “We share the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of our beloved actor Lee Yoon Hee with heavy hearts. We join his grieving family in mourning and will forever cherish the warm memories and legacy he has left behind.”

Born in 1960, Lee Yoon Hee began his career in Busan as a stage actor and made his official debut in 1985 with the play Gukmul Issaomnida (Excuse Me, Soup Please). He gained widespread recognition for his compelling performances in numerous films, including Secret Sunshine, Nameless Gangster, Love Fiction, Miracle in Cell No. 7, and Flu.

Recently, he received critical acclaim for his performances in Netflix’s The Bequeathed and tvN’s Captivating The King , as well as making a strong impression in SBS’s drama Taxi Driver.

Although the exact cause of his death has not been disclosed, his active and healthy lifestyle has made his sudden passing all the more tragic.

With a career spanning 40 years, Lee Yoon Hee’s heartfelt performances and memorable roles will remain cherished in the hearts of fans and colleagues. As his family and friends mourn, the funeral procession will take place on the morning of the 13th, with interment at Ulsan Sky Park.
