Korean Actress Marries Businessman, Days Later He’s Accused Of Massive Fraud + Lawyer Responds

Actor Lim Sung Eon, who got married a couple of days ago, is facing issues as her husband is already accused of fraud!

Recently, Dispatch reported that Mr. A, a businessman and Lim Sung Eon’s husband, has three prior fraud convictions and was allegedly involved in a large-scale apartment development scam, with damages estimated at 20 billion won (approximately 14.5 million USD). The report also claimed that he is currently under investigation and trial for charges including fraud, breach of trust, embezzlement, obstruction of business, and concealment of assets. According to Dispatch, he is also under a travel ban, which allegedly led the newlywed couple to honeymoon in Jeju instead of overseas. The report further stated this is Mr. A’s third marriage.

Due to this, on May 26, Mr. A’s legal representative from Yuseung Law Firm stated, “Mr. A has been granted full authority from Lim Sung Eon to issue official statements. Most of the reports being circulated are not true.”

In response, Mr. A’s side stated, “While accompanying a creditor involved in a long-standing legal dispute with Mr. A’s company, the reporter trespassed on the private wedding and conducted illegal coverage and filming. We filed a criminal complaint against the creditor and the reporter on May 19, and an investigation is currently underway.”

They added, “The articles are filled with unverified claims and include statements that violate current laws.” Mr. A’s legal team emphasized they are “reviewing and proceeding with strong legal action, including civil and criminal charges for defamation.”

Lim Sung Eon held her wedding with Mr. A at a hotel in Seoul on May 17. At the time, it was only revealed that her groom was a non-celebrity businessman older than her.

Born in 1983, Lim Sung Eon gained popularity after appearing on the 2002 dating show “Romance of the Rose” and later transitioned into acting. She is known for her roles in dramas such as “Cheongdam-dong Scandal,” “One Spring Night,” and films like “My Little Bride,” “Mellies,” and “One Spring Night.” In recent years, she has mainly focused on theater performances.
