Jung Hae In and Jung So Min’s romance in “Love Next Door” has finally confirmed its broadcasting details!
“Love Next Door” (script by Ha Eun Shin, directed by Je Won Yoo), a new weekend drama set to premiere on August 17 on tvN, is a tumultuous neighborhood romance about a woman trying to reboot her life and the “mom’s friend’s son” who is her living past mistake. The story, which unfolds as childhood friends Seunghyo (played by Jung Hae In) and Seokryu (played by Jung So Min) meet again at the crossroads of their youth, promises to deliver delightful humor and warm excitement.
The drama has already garnered excitement as the next project by director Je Won Yoo, who had back-to-back hits with “Crash Course in Romance” and “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,” and reunites with writer Ha Eun Shin, acclaimed for the well-made drama “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha.”
The script reading session for “Love Next Door” has drawn attention. With director Je Won Yoo, writer Ha Eun Shin, and actors Jung Hae In, Jung So Min, Kim Ji Eun, Yoon Ji On, Park Ji Young, Jo Han Chul, Jang Young Nam, and Lee Seung Joon, the session was lively, filled with passionate performances, and reminiscent of a real scene. Notably, Jung Hae In and Jung So Min’s chemistry in their roles as “mom’s friend’s son” and “mom’s friend’s daughter,” respectively, already turned expectations into confidence.

Jung Hae In heightened anticipation for his first romantic comedy with his natural portrayal of Seunghyo, a perfect “mom’s friend’s son” in appearance, personality, and ability. Jung So Min, portraying Seokryu, a “mom’s friend’s daughter” seeking to reboot her life, is expected to captivate young viewers with her relatable character.
Kim Ji Eun plays the paramedic Mo Eum, who believes she has a hero’s DNA. As one of Seunghyo and Seokryu’s childhood friends, she perfectly embodied the cool and loyal Mo Eum with her energy and focus. Yoon Ji On, as Dan Ho, a warm and kindhearted journalist, highlighted his character’s gentle nature. His move next door to Mo Eum marks his full entry into Hyerung-dong, intertwining their lives beyond just “neighbors,” adding another layer to the drama.
The “Love Next Door” production team said, “The script reading was cheerful and warm, like a gathering of old friends and neighbors. Watch the actors’ performances and synergy in the neighborhood romance of Seunghyo and Seokryu and the life stories of the people in Hyerung-dong.”
