Following The Shocking Shooting Incident In Incheon, Netflix’s Upcoming Drama About Guns Cancels Broadcast Of Live Fan Event
Netflix original series “Trigger” has canceled its fan event live broadcast.
On the night of July 20 at around 9:30 p.m., a shocking incident occurred at an apartment in Songdo-dong, Incheon, where a man in his 60s, Mr. A, used a homemade gun to kill his son, a man in his 30s identified as Mr. B.
Mr. A fled the scene immediately after the crime but was later apprehended by the police and transferred to Incheon.
Netflix was set to hold the “Trigger Talk & Shot” fan event featuring Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang on July 22 at 7:30 p.m. KST, and it was planned to be broadcast live via Naver’s CHZZK platform.
A Netflix representative told Maeil Business Star Today on the 21st of July, “The live broadcast scheduled for the 22nd has been canceled. However, the offline event with fans who applied in advance will proceed as planned.”
Naver Entertainment also announced, “The live broadcast has been canceled at the request of the host.”
“Trigger” is a gun-disaster action thriller that follows the story of two men who each pick up a gun for their own reasons, as illegal firearms of unknown origin begin to appear and gun incidents continue to occur in South Korea, a country known for its strict gun control. The series stars actors Kim Nam Gil and Kim Young Kwang.
While Netflix has not disclosed a specific reason for the cancellation, some speculate that the decision may be related to the recent shooting incident in Incheon, especially since Trigger is a firearm-related disaster action series.
